Enamoured by the success of International Machine Tool Exhibitions in Hannover, members of Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) deemed it necessary to hold exhibitions of similar scale in India to uplift India’s trade and user industries in terms of technology knowhow and developments.
The first exhibition called All India Machine Tool Exhibition was organized in Bombay in the premises of a 7,000 square metres Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company in Vikhroli. The exhibition in later years would gain popularity as IMTEX series.
Godrej & Boyce and Premier Automobiles Limited along with support from IMTMA’s EC (Executive Committee) members and most importantly Naoroji Pirojsha Godrej who was instrumental in setting up IMTMA, organized the first exhibition in 1969.
Today IMTEX as South East Asia’s largest exhibition ages 50 glorious years IMTMA vouches exhibitors, visitors, delegates and well-wishers to join hands with us and make the 50th anniversary a grand success.
