From IMTMA Desk |
Conventionally, the Indian machine tool industry has been deriving its income broadly from auto components and automobile industries. While these twin sectors will continue to bring volume sales for the machine tool industry in the foreseeable future, it would bode well for the industry to enlarge its presence in size and scale in many of the sunrise sectors as well. The Government of India has identified a list of 27 champion sectors which includes major ones such as aerospace and defence, automotive and auto components, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, electronics system design and manufacturing, railways, construction, new and renewable energy, and many more. Doing business with these industries would augur well to turn our machine tool industry to a global champion. The industry needs to “go green” and “go digital” to attract investments in future which will realize the ambition of ‘Make in India’. |

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) is organizing its flagship IMTEX at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from January 20 - 26, 2022. IMTMA by holding IMTEX 2022, IMTEX FORMING 2022, Tooltech 2022 and Digital Manufacturing 2022 at BIEC aims to make India the centre of manufacturing. User industries from these champion sectors will have a lot to unearth at IMTEX 2022, especially the high-precision, large size machines and multi-task machines in metal cutting and metal forming which are needed to advance business to the next level. |
